The largest cast-iron statue in America, Vulcan looks over Birmingham from his perch on Red Mountain. Although Birmingham's days as an industrial powerhouse are behind it, Vulcan remains a symbol of the city.

Visit the Vulcan Park for a picnic, or pay admission and get access to the museum, the observation balcony, and an interesting scavenger hunt. The views from the park are the best in Birmingham.
