Las Vegas Swimming

If you're coming out to Vegas and you need to get a swim in for your triathlon training, you have a lot of options beyond your hotel pool. Sure you can get up before everyone else and try and make laps in some kind of weird palm-shaped oasis, or you could wait and maybe get some pool-side blackjack in between sets, but don't limit yourself.

Las Vegas has two excellent municipal pools - Henderson's Multi Gen Center Pool, and Las Vegas' Desert Breeze indoor pool. You also have the option of doing open water swimming in Lake Mead at Boulder Beach, where a lot of local triathlons start. Although some triathlons do swim out at Lake Las Vegas, we couldn't find anything that said it was ok to swim out there when we went. We think you'd be pretty conspicuous walking down the village streets in your bathing suit too!
